 PéCHé MORTEL - Foire Dans La Ville 1987 (3:36) Superior austere electro coldwave from France, with little or no information available about the band. Their self-released demo K7 showcases eight untitled tracks in the mould of Auscult, with whom their quality bears comparison. On this evidence they were formidable and, like so many others, should have enjoyed a huge cult following instead of languishing in all-too familiar obscurity. This track is taken from the demo and, while untitled, it’s a much better recorded version of the track Foire Dans La Ville which appeared on the Aspect D’Une Certaine Industrie label ’Machina’ cassette in the same year. This compilation is a total gem BTW, also featuring Neva, Weimar Gesang, Attrition, Clair Obscur, Complot Bronswick and Norma Loy.
